BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza
I’ve been experimenting with homemade pizza at our house the last few weeks. After the first couple that turned out Okaaaay… I finally landed on this one. It got the approval from each member of the family which wasn’t easy because some don’t like tomato sauce (of any kind), and some prefer thin crust, thick crust, no veggies, more veggies… you see my dilemma. But, it also became my source of inspiration to find the perfect blend. This mixes all of our favorite flavor and texture preferences into one delightful pizza.
I used the Pioneer Woman’s pizza dough recipe which you can find by clicking HERE. Easy and scrumptious! I use half the dough per pizza for a thinner crust.
RECIPE:
Prepare pizza dough as directed.
Ingredients:
1/2 pckg. bacon, cooked and crumbled
1lb SLF Ground Beef, cooked and seasoned with salt + pepper
Favorite BBQ Sauce (which means any kind will do)
3/4 cup chopped Green Pepper
1 TBLS fresh Thyme (pulled of the twig)
1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (you choose your cheesiness)
Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Stretch prepared pizza dough onto a greased pizza pan or cookie sheet (I use Olive Oil). Squirt BBQ sauce over the dough and spread with a knife or cooking brush (approx. 1/2 - 3/4 cup). Top with ground beef, bacon, green pepper and Thyme. Cover with shredded cheese. Cook for 10-12 min, or until dough is golden brown underneath. Enjoy!
